أقامت دائرة القضاء بأبوظبي ممثله في القائم بأعمال النائب العام دعوى تأديبية ضد الناشط الحقوقي السيد محمد صقر الزعابي وأحالته إلى المجلس التأديبي بمخالفة تتمثل في ترؤسه مجلس إدارة جمعية الحقوقيين(جمعية مرخصة رسمياً لدى السلطات منذ عام 1980) سابقا وتجديد انتخابه في الدورة الجديدة للمجلس، حيث عقد مجلس التأديب أولى جلساته الأسبوع الماضي وتم تأجيل الدعوى إلى اليوم الأربعاء 16/6/2010 ليقدم دفاعه .
وللعلم، فإن السيد محمد صقر الزعابي يشغل حالياً منصب وكيل أول محكمة النقض في دائرة محاكم أبوظبي، و قد شغل منصب رئيس مجلس إدارة جمعية الحقوقيين في دورته الماضية لمدة سنتين(2008-2009) يرى بعض زملائه أن الجمعية حققت إنجازات عديدة في فترة ترؤسه لها (أنظرhttp://www.jurists.ae/content.asp?contentid=1276) :
من الجدير بالذكر أن دستور دولة الإمارات يكفل الحق في الاشتراك في الجمعيات وفق المادة (33) التي تنص على: “حرية الاجتماع ، وتكوين الجمعيات ، مكفولة في حدود القانون”، كما أنه سبق و أن شارك في عضوية مجلس إدارة الجمعية في الدورات السابقة الكثير من القضاة (بعضهم في المحكمة الاتحادية العليا) ووكلاء النيابة العامة، كما أنه تجدر الإشارة إلى أن الرئيس الحالي في جمعية الإجتماعين هو موظف عام يعمل في وزارة الشؤون الإجتماعية، لكن لم يتم اتخاذ أية إجراءات تأديبية في حق إي منهم.
UAE: A disciplinary hearing against an Activist due to his former role as a Chairman of Jurists Association and his active membership

Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, represented by the Acting Attorney General, recently established disciplinary hearing committee against the Human Rights activist Mr. Mohamed Saqr Al Zaabi in a violation of “heading the Jurists Association” (officially registered since 1980) and the re-election of him as a member of the board in the latest term. The disciplinary board held their first session last week and the case was postponed to today -the 16 June, 2010 – for Mr. Al Zaabi to present his defense against the case.
Mr. Mohamed Saqr Al Zaabi is currently working as first deputy in the Court of Cassation in the Department of Abu Dhabi Courts. He has also chaired the Jurists Association in its last session for a period of two years (2008-2009). Some of his colleges believe that many were accomplished during his term (see:

It is worth mentioning that the UAE Constitution guarantees the right of association in accordance with Article (33), which states: “Freedom of assembly and association, guaranteed within the limits of law”. Furthermore, many judges (some working in the Federal Supreme Court) and prosecutors either headed or were members of the board of Jurists Association. It could be also pointed out that the current chairman of the Sociologist Association is a public employee in the Ministry of Social Affairs. None of the above however was subjected to any disciplinary action
